Are you Saved?
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" II Corinthians 13:5
"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death...Proverbs 14:12
Dear friend, do you claim to be saved? If so, what do you base that on? Is your salvation based on the Bible or something else? When most people are asked the question, "If you died today, where would you be," They answer that they would go to heaven. Almost everyone has a profession of salvation. Yet we know according to the Bible that most people are not going to be saved. Matthew 7:13-23 tells us,
"13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will 1 profess unto them, 1 never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Focus on verses 21 and 22. These people were professing Christians. They honestly believed with all their heart that they were saved. They even called Jesus Lord. From verse 22 we find some of these people were preachers. Some were miracle workers. Some were morally good church members. All were religious and had a testimony of being saved, yet they all went to Hell. Where did they go wrong? How could they have been so deceived?
In this article it is my desire that you will examine your salvation profession in light of the Bible. Please don't be like one of the "many" on Judgment Day who go to Hell calling Jesus Lord. Don't let a false salvation experience send you to an eternity of torment! Read more.
What we Believe
Verbal Inspiration of the Scriptures - We believe in the infallible inspired Word of God. We accept the Textus Receptus manuscript as the foundational material from which we derive the King James 1611. The Old and New Testament scriptures were written by human authors divinely inspired and edited by the Holy Spirit, preserved, unbroken and passed down to us today.
Genesis Account of Creation - We believe the Genesis account of creation, and that what you believe about your origin will determine your philosophy of life. We believe creation was a direct act of God, literal days, instantaneous, and miraculous. We believe man was created in the image of God and all reproduction was "after their kind.”
Trinity - We believe God is a person, eternally
existing. One true God but in the unity of the Godhead. There are three eternal
and co-equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the
same in substance but distinct in subsistence. One Godhead made up of three
persons who are the same in attributes, power, characteristics and desires.
